Cappuccino on a stick

A frozen version of my favorite coffee drink is nothing more than accidental genius.

Accidental is the operative word here. I was making several batches of flavored ice cubes (Creamy Milk Cubes, Chocolate Espresso Cubes ) to have on hand for ice coffee drinks. By the time I made my Sweet Cappuccino Cubes there were no more ice cube trays. So, I started filling Popsicle molds.

There you have it, necessity really is the mother of invention!  Would I enjoy this on a hot summer morning you might ask … just did. I also find Ricotta al Cafe quite satisfying for a simple (no cooking required) morning meal. But my favorite Sicilian summer breakfast is the traditional Granita di Cafe eaten with a warm brioscia (similar to a French brioche).

Ingredients:

  1. In a blender, combine the coffee and sweetened condensed milk, blend until smooth. Pour into Popsicle molds. Freeze until solid.
  2. To remove your cappuccini on sticks, dip the molds in hot water for a just a few seconds. Consume with youthful enthusiasm!
